sketch 12 gave me a jumpscare with the statline
this one gave me one with an enemy named "roadrunner". what are you cooking here
i thought i was supposed to knock stalagmite off of each side room to make the cave collapse but i guess not....
writing this after a first attempt -
i think i really ended up playing into how you intended things to go, psychologically. i realized after a bit of playing that most everything was a dead end and tried to guess what the 'trick' was from the title。I thought to walk past any exit that wasn't at the end of the path, which worked... until it didn't. i really thought i was in the endgame when i saw the tileset swap (and the 4-way intersection with 2 paths that connect back on each other)..!
also, I think I obtained an item that was supposed to be dummied out from the sea behemoth? twas a blank name item with no description, Obtained !
As the kids would say, "liminal" !
yesss love this exploration of pathing. the feeling of the scenery changing is so fun, both satisfying and worrying. i also love how expressive the enemies are just through name/graphic combinations, behaviours, and colours. rpg maker asset re-contextualization is my favourite trick. a tree is a sort of stalagmite
using a werewolf for a thundercloud in ocean oi broke my brain forever
You have now played,
Longest Path.
I don't know why you did this, but congrats.
Very absorbing route planner game!
I liked how chill and calming the game was; the encounter rate was merciful and the enemies weren't too overwhelming.
I noticed how each enemy leaned into the player tackling them differently and finding an optimized strategy for each on it's own merit. Examples would be not attempting to flee from a Roadrunner or using the vital Hurting Water to get rid of those who can put one in a pain locker.
Great job and on to the next, eh?
