did you hear? i'm not the only one making one-day micro-rpgs in rpg maker 2000. fellow traveler Razuth recently concluded a personal challenge of making a game a day for 28 days (part 2 here). this week's sketch is a riff on One Hit Wonders, from that collection. if you're into what my sketches have doing, i highly recommend checking out razuth's work

Good one. Made it to 28 with Lament, Cearcelaan, and Jorkon. Maybe got lucky with RNG and encounters till I got a whole party paralyzed by zap boxes.

Not 100% sure I understand the mechanics - may try again later :)

Sweet game! Made it to floor 52 on my first attempt after grasping the mechanics, before dying to a triple harpy encounter (that's one of the really nasty ones). Tried to see if I could reach a higher floor but I kept getting bad luck with meteors on my subsequent runs and dying trying to stretch out my MP... The lethal combat is really fun and the characters are differentiated from each other well, too.

as far as i know 52 is the record rn :O who was your team?

The successful run used Jorkon, Ultos and Cearcelaan. Afterwards I started using Jorkon, Lament and Kataphorps because I felt like their kits were better, but like I said it didn't work out in any of my attempts.

the harpies are mean!!!

haha i love this. this was sorta the direction wanted to take fat boy rpg in, low stats and revive management, and love what you've done with it. love the character select and discovering what abilities and enemies interact. also the room design reminds me of lode runner 2

record so far is floor 23

if only i had known, i could have put all the fat boys in and done two homages at once
