this was cool! i'm surprised at how much of an atmosphere you can create with even just stock rpgmaker assets...

I wasn't quite able to win in the time i spent with this game, but i appreciate the setup and payoff with the existence of the Dark spell - ('huh. is the demon weak to dark against expectations? no...') it does feel like it's somewhat RNG with how much more brutal some attack patterns can be

i also loved the author's notes and how much you had to say despite (or maybe because of) the 1 hour development time restriction.

Won on my... fifth attempt, I think. First phase went badly compared to my previous try (I got through with 1 potion left), but then I got a really lucky pattern on the second phase.

That ending screen hit really hard, ahahaha. Well done.

This is the first one of these sketches I'm trying, it's a cool experience!

I couldn't really beat it even after I figured out the strategy, it felt really RNG dependent. Which I think is kind of an inherent problem with RPGs if you want to tell a narrative through the combat systems. I think if I wanted to do that I'd rely more on heavily scripted events, but that does take away a lot of the magic, I guess.

It's incredibly cool to be able to see all the design notes afterwards, though! I'm very glad I played this.
